Where passion meets thought

I seek that place where passion meets thought.
Where the dark, messy, creative energy of inspiration
meets the clear, comforting, light of wisdom.
Where compassion becomes joyous contribution
and imagination is a bold force of nature.
Passion arises in our bodies.
It emerges underneath awareness like some subterranean creature.
It can be cultivated by practice:
Gendlin’s focusing, meditation, breathwork, yoga, dance,
massage, chanting, lucid dreaming,vision questing,
hypnosis, poetry, music and prayer.
And shared through inspirational speaking,
non-violent communication, and Bohm dialogue.
Thought brings discipline to passion.
We are in the midst of a revolution in quantum physics,
neurophysiology, nanotechnology, evolutionary psychology,
economic game theory, and self-improving artificial intelligence
that will reshape our world.
Let’s embrace both great powers
so that our spirits soar!
